Week 24

Well Ladies and Gents, I will be spending yet another change here in the wonderful ward of Manantial with my companion Elder Monrroy. I never thought I would be spending more than a fourth of my mission here in this sector but I'm not going to lie I am really excited for this change! We have so many wonderful people here!

On the 26th of this month we have 2 more baptisms and both of the young men that we are going to be baptizing want to serve missions. It is so great to be able to help them both reach their goal! This past week was a good week. My companion and I worked hard to get the people we had contacted to church on sunday and the hard work paid off. We ended up having 6 progressing investigators at church yesterday. It really is awesome when people keep the commitments that we leave with them!

There isn't a whole lot more to report on this week. I just want to thank you all for your support and prayers and for the letters that I have received! It is hard for me to send letters back but I will try to get some sent off.

We went to a members house to recieve changes and today is her sons

Birthday so on Saturday I bought a cake for them so we could celebrate.

He turned 2 today :)

Pouch Mail

Pouch mail is a service provided by the LDS church. Items are sent via USPS to church headquarters where they are forwarded to the missionary by a private courier along with other church mail. Pouch mail leaves every Friday. Only postcards or one-page correspondences (no envelopes) written on one side of the page may be sent. No photographs.

Letter folding instructions when using the pouch mail service. Lay the letter blank side down. Fold the bottom of the letter about one-third of the way up the page and crease. Fold the top of the letter to the bottom of the first fold and crease. Secure the long side with two piece of tape about one inch from each end, but do not seal the ends. In the top left corner write your name and return address. Affix first class postage in the top right corner. In the middle write the missionary's address as follows:

FREE LETTER SENDING

Go to www.dearelder.com and set up an account. This is a free service. They will send the letter via pouch mail for you. Make sure you select the Ecuador Quito mission, not the Quito North mission. Follow the instructions. It is very simple!

If you are wanting to send a dearelder.com letter to the Mexico MTC, it is also free. What you need to do is from the home page at dearelder.com under "send stuff" select Pouch (free) from the left columnon. On the next page scroll to the bottom and click search for your mission maually. scroll down to the Mexico MTC and click on "write letter". I'm not sure why you have to do it this way. Hope it helps:)

Packages may not exceed 4 pounds AND MUST carry a green sticker, even if the post office workers suggest you use a white one. It must have this customs declaration on the package, or it will not be accepted in Ecuador.

DO NOT SEND PACKAGES BY PRIORITY MAIL OR FEDEX. These will automatically go to "mail jail", requiring a special trip to the post office and payment of a large fee. All of which will cause a long delay for Kaiden to receive the package.
